10 Years Looks “Beautiful” At Radio

New Single Impacts As #1 Most Added At Alternative and Active Rock Radio
Sophomore Release Division In-Stores April 8 on Universal Republic

Universal Republic Records’ rock band 10 Years is making waves at radio with their new single “Beautiful.”  The song impacted at radio on February 5th and has garnered #1 Most Added status at Alternative and Active Rock radio.  With stations like KDGE (Dallas), KTBZ (Houston), WIIL (Chicago) and KEGL (Dallas) already on board, the band looks to continue the success garnered from their debut The Autumn Effect, which spawned the hits “Wasteland” and “Through The Iris.”  As one programmer from WXSR (Tallahassee) has raved about the new single:

“'Beautiful' epitomizes its title in so many ways: lyrically, musically... all the way around.  The song has generated monster requests…Do your listeners a favor and play the track they've been waiting for from the band that will be making a HUGE impact on the rock world in April ‘08 with the release of their sophomore effort, Division." – Greg Sutton/PD

The band has put the finishing touches on their new album, Division, readying it for a nationwide in-store release on April 8.  Division was produced by acclaimed production veteran Rick Parasher (Pearl Jam, Nickelback, Soundgarden. Rob Zombie, among others). Recorded during what the band has described as ‘an intense creative process’ this past summer, songs on Division include “Just Can’t Win,” “In Your Eyes,” “Day Dreamer,” and “Focus,” among others.  The latter song was co-written by guitarist Dean DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots’ fame .

It has always been the power of 10 Years’ grassroots momentum that has endeared them to rock fans.  Held in awe by peers and critics for their non-stop touring regimen - ‘I have never seen a crowd so 100% behind a band’ -  crowed one critic, sold-out treks with Korn, Mudvayne, Metallica and many others have sealed their reputation as one of the rock world’s most formidable band of road warriors.  Formed in 2002, the longtime friends gained notoriety with their independent release Killing All That Holds You, signing on with Universal Records in 2005.

NEW 10 YEARS ALBUM ON THE WAY

Division In-Stores April 8 on Universal Republic Records

Universal Republic Records’ rock band 10 YEARS has put the finishing touches on their new album, Division, readying it for a nationwide in-store release on April 8.  Produced by acclaimed production veteran Rick Parasher (Pearl Jam, Nickelback, Soundgarden. Rob Zombie, among others), the new disc is the follow-up to their breakthrough Universal Republic debut, The Autumn Effect, which opened the doors for both alternative and mainstream success for the Knoxville, Tennessee band.

“Top to bottom, we include a lot of different elements on this one,” stated frontman/vocalist Jesse Hasek. “The individuals of the band have so many diverse influences and experiences to draw from; it was the ultimate process working with Rick, who helped us choose only the best songs to make the cut.  His work embodies some of the biggest influences of our career, so we can’t wait to share the fruits of our labor with all our fans around the world.”  Hasek cites 10 Years grueling work ethic as a key motivator behind the new album, with the group fine-tuning a pool of 30 songs for more than a year before entering the studio this past June.

Known for their provocative, sometimes primal approach to songcraft, 2005’s Autumn Effect unleashed one of 2005-2006’s biggest rock radio hits with the mythic single “Wasteland.”   The iconic song not only set career highs for the band when it was certified gold, it reigned for more than a year on US rock charts, notching the #4 year-end spot on the Active rock chart, and eventually pulling off a hat-trick of #1 citations at Active rock, Alternative rock and Billboard’s Modern rock chart.   The album also spawned a second hit single for the band, “Through The Iris.”

Autumn Effect went on to achieve near-gold status itself, with the video for “Wasteland” garnering two MTV Award nominations thanks to the band’s vision of merging the song’s aching lament with the fate of real life refugees all over the world.  The group teamed up with international human rights organization Amnesty International (AI) to weave several real-life personal survival histories into the clip.  With its juxtaposition of a gritty, no-holds-barred performance from the group and riveting documentary footage (and text), “Wasteland” evoked the terrible global toll of horrific human rights abuses.
