10 YEARS SPRING TOUR
2/23/2009
UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC ROCK BAND 10 YEARS
TO HIT ROAD FOR SPRING TOUR
(New York, NY =- February 23rd, 2009) Universal Republic Records’ rock band 10 Years is gearing up for a spring tour that will take them to 27 U.S. cities, kicking off on February 26, in Baton Rouge, LA, and touching down in, among other cities, Nashville, TN on March 7th, Boston, MA on March 28th, and New York City's famed Irving Plaza on March 31st, before winding up in Hampton Beach, NH on April 4th (see complete list of dates below). The band will also make a stop at the famed Orange County Choppers bike shop to help them celebrate 10 years in the custom bike business with a free show on April 1st.
The group has become a favorite touring attraction of rock and alternative audiences, having garnered raves on last year's jaunt with Linkin Park on the Projekt Revolution Tour, and via their own bombastic treks throughout the U.S. and overseas.
10 Years is still reaping kudos for their sophomore Universal Republic release, Division, which garnered a host of Top Tier chart honors last spring and summer, snagging the #1 spot on iTunes coveted rock page, the #12 spot on the Billboard Top Albums chart, and the #2 position on the Top Alternative Albums chart, among other Top Ten landings. The celebrated CD was produced by acclaimed production veteran Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Nickelback, Soundgarden. Rob Zombie, among others), the follow-up to their breakthrough Universal Republic debut, The Autumn Effect, which opened the doors for both alternative and mainstream success for the Knoxville, Tennessee band.
Known for their provocative approach to songcraft, 2005’s near-platinum Autumn Effect unleashed one of 2005-2006’s biggest rock radio hits with the mythic single “Wasteland.” The iconic song not only set career highs for the band (certified gold along with the album’s other hit, “Through The Iris”), it reigned for more than a year on US rock charts, notching the #4 year-end spot on the Active rock chart, and eventually pulling off a hat-trick of #1 citations at Active rock, Alternative rock, Billboard’s Modern rock chart and scoring across-the-board video support and MTV recognition. Division's seminal hit "Beautiful" also became a video classic, taking a wry swipe at the media circus surrounding celebrity journalism.
Universally praised for their grassroots touring regimen, past sold-out treks with Korn, Mudvayne, Sevendust and many others have sealed their reputation as one of the rock world’s most formidable band of road warriors. Formed in 2002, the longtime friends gained notoriety with their independent release Killing All That Holds You, signing on with Universal Records in 2005.
